Eliza MacLauchlan joined the Commission as a Human Rights Officer in September 2025. Eliza’s adult life has been dedicated to working with people and the laws that shape their lives. Her previous work experience includes working in human rights, plain language legal information. migrant worker advocacy and research. She has training in mediation, conflict coaching, facilitation, and restorative justice.
She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation, is a restorative justice facilitator with the Provincial Restorative Justice Program, and is a collective member with the Cooper Institute. She has a Master of Arts in Island Studies degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree, both from the University of Prince Edward Island. In her free time, she can be found being active, reading a book, or petting a cat.
