Darrell has been a Human Rights Officer with the Commission since December 2022. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Studies from Cape Breton University and a Master of Education from Framingham State University.
Darrell is an Informal Dispute Resolution practitioner who has worked in the field fulltime since 2011. He is trained in interest-based conflict resolution, mediation with people experiencing high conflict, transformative mediation and restorative practice. Darrell obtained his Certificate in Conflict Resolution from UPEI in 2011 and has also trained with the High Conflict Institute, the International Institute of Restorative Practice, and Community Justice Initiatives. As an employee of PEI’s Department of Justice and Public Safety, Darrell mediated family disputes and facilitated victim-offender dialogues. He held the position of Alternative Dispute Resolution Coordinator and was the acting coordinator of the Provinces Restorative Justice Program.
Darrell enjoys listening to music, reading, photography and spending time outdoors in his free time.
